Rebecca L. Franciscus
Rebecca, a securities enforcement attorney with significant experience handling complex financial and white collar fraud cases, has drawn upon her unique financial and legal skill sets to benefit non-profit organizations for over 20 years. Since 2010, Rebecca has been the executive director and trustee for a private family foundation based in Colorado. In this role, Rebecca has first-hand experience working, in concert with strategic advisors to implement the family’s charitable goals while safeguarding the assets for future generations through compliance and adherence to regulatory obligations. More importantly, Rebecca has united the family’s three generations together through mentorship and training to ensure that the entire family, age 70 to age 3, understands the importance of the family legacy. Further, Rebecca has served in key leadership roles at numerous non-profits, offering strategic advice and support. Her background harmonizing multigenerational needs within a private family foundation, along with her non-profit experience, legal background, securities transaction expertise, and trust management knowledge is unparalleled.
Cheryl A. Georg
Cheryl Georg has been developing and executing strategic business, marketing, and communications plans for non-profits, private businesses, international manufacturers, and political interests for more than 30 years. As a trained mediator, Cheryl’s talent lies in working with groups large and small to identify, unite, and implement visionary goals with effective and transparent execution. Combined with her technological expertise, Cheryl has developed proprietary, integrated processes to yield results-driven execution of plans in a professional and approachable manner. Her keen sense of accountability ensures internal monitoring and timely tracking of key deliverables.
Our Story
Rebecca and Cheryl, started working together when they served as officers and directors of a local, non-profit organization in 2013. They quickly recognized their synergy, mutual respect, personal connection and desire to continue their philanthropic impact. From this goal, Foundation Matters was formed in 2015. Through Foundation Matters, Rebecca and Cheryl leverage their individual professional expertise, commitment to the community, and desire to help families change the world.
