Foundation Creation – Foundation Matters works in cooperation with the donor(s) and other specialized professionals (legal counsel, financial advisors, and tax advisors) to form the vehicle for philanthropic engagement such as a private foundation and the composition of its Board of Directors.
Family Visioning – Foundation Matters conducts a vision and mission strategy session to identify passions, interests, family values and personal legacy goals. From these efforts, a family values statement and a vision and mission statement are created to serve as the guideposts for an impactful charitable giving plan. Throughout the development stage, Foundation Matters communicates with integrity and clarity to all stakeholders to ensure inter-generational adoption, understanding, and commitment to the philanthropic vision and mission.
Charity Evaluation and Consultation – Foundation Matters conducts a comprehensive evaluation of all target recipient non-profit organizations. Foundation Matters confirms the regulatory compliance of potential organizations, makes site visits, and connects directly with the organization’s leadership. Foundation Matters manages branding, sponsorship, endowment, and other negotiations directly with philanthropic organizations, although family representatives are always welcome to participate if desired. Foundation Matters believes in educating and empowering future generations and will assist family members of all ages in the process of vetting worthy charities.
Developing an Impactful Philanthropic Plan – Foundation Matters develops individualized giving plans for the organization. Giving plans are presented to and approved by appropriate stakeholders. Once adopted, an annual calendar is developed to outline the donation schedule and activities supporting the giving plan.
